Our Titan Topcoat has been classified with: Scrubbable - Class 1 Wet Scrub Rating (ISO 11998)
Titan Topcoat is a multipurpose, low odour and quick drying waterproof coating - providing a tough but flexible non-yellowing finish. It can be applied to most types of wood and sheet materials, such as plywood and MDF. In addition, it will bond to many other surfaces including masonry, concrete, terracotta, metal and laminates.
This waterproof varnish is perfect for surfaces that need to be waterproofed and hygienic such as bathroom and kitchen floors, cafes and bars, laminate floors and outdoor furniture.
This is not recommended for use with our oils.

SUPERIOR ROBUST PROTECTION
Titan Topcoat can be diluted with cold water for a variety of purposes including spray application or to create a thinner basecoat sealer before applying further coats. Further dilution will produce an excellent primer for new plasterwork prior to painting. If you are applying this coating over Littlefair's Water Based Wood Dye, it should be possible to both dye the wood and apply two full coats to your project within the day, after an early start.
Preparation
Careful, thorough preparation will result in a far superior finish, especially when applied over our Water Based Wood Dye.
(Please refer to the instructions on the dye).
If you are dying the wood first, the final appearance will be a combination of the wood’s natural colour, the dye and the topcoat. It is always a good idea to prepare a test piece in exactly the same manner as your project.
Application
Titan Topcoat can be applied with a good quality brush, roller or applicator pad. Aim to work quickly and confidently and try to avoid overlapping.
When applying to larger surfaces such as doors, floors and table tops it helps to dilute the first coat with about 20% cold water and brush out a thin film as a basecoat. The first full coat can now be applied both across and along the grain, but aim to make the final brush stroke along the grain to achieve an even coverage.
Completion
The first full coat can be lightly sanded with 240 grit abrasive if you feel it necessary - or, you may prefer to build up the thickness of the topcoat and only sand it lightly before the final coat. To clean your brushes and equipment - simply rinse thoroughly with cold water.
It’s important to note that the final appearance will be a combination of the natural colour of your wood, the effect of the dye and the finishing product if used. With this in mind - always produce a test piece so you can properly judge the result.
